This isn't a role where you're inheriting someone else's estimating function.

It's an opportunity to build one.

We're working with an established UK manufacturer operating within the construction sector who are looking for an experienced estimator to take ownership of their estimating function and shape what it looks like going forward.

You'll be joining a business where the technical knowledge is already there — your opportunity is to bring structure, consistency and leadership to the estimating operation, whilst building a team around you.

You'll have genuine influence.

From creating a more robust approach to costing through to developing the estimating team, you'll be trusted to look at what's working, challenge what's not and put better ways of doing things in place.

You'll work closely with the wider business across manufacturing, procurement, production, installation and senior management, giving you visibility of projects from the commercial side right through to delivery.

And importantly, you'll have the opportunity to build and lead a team of 3–5 estimators.

• Has a solid background in construction estimating
• Understands the realities of costing projects that involve manufacturing and installation
• Has the credibility to lead experienced people and the personality to bring a team with them
• Can challenge existing processes and introduce more effective ways of working
• Is comfortable working with drawings, specifications, costs and commercial information
• Can operate confidently with both technical teams and senior stakeholders
• Ideally has already led a team — although a strong Senior Estimator who has deputised or is ready to take that next step will also be considered

A qualification in Construction, Engineering, Quantity Surveying or a related discipline would be advantageous, alongside strong experience within the UK construction environment.

Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience
Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:30am–5:00pm
Location: Bedfordshire
Holiday: 25 days bank holidays, with 2–4 days reserved for the Christmas shutdown
