Build Recruitment are currently recruiting for an experienced Electrician to join a well-established social housing contractor, delivering responsive electrical repairs and maintenance across occupied properties throughout Hammersmith and West London.

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified Electrician looking for long-term permanent employment, with a competitive salary of £49,716, company van and fuel card, additional call-out opportunities, strong benefits and ongoing career development.

You will be working directly in residents' homes, carrying out a variety of responsive electrical repairs while providing a professional and customer-focused service.

As a Responsive Repairs Electrician, you will be responsible for diagnosing and completing a wide range of domestic electrical repairs and maintenance across social housing properties.

Duties will include:

• Carrying out responsive electrical repairs within occupied social housing properties.

• Diagnosing and repairing electrical faults.

• Working on lighting, sockets, circuits and consumer units.

• Completing repairs to heating controls, extractor fans and electrical accessories.

• Carrying out minor installation and remedial works.

• Fault finding and aiming for first-time fixes.

• Ensuring all works comply with BS7671 Wiring Regulations.

• Recording completed works using PDA/handheld systems.

• Liaising professionally with tenants and residents.

• Maintaining clean, safe and tidy working areas.

• Working to agreed response times and performance targets.

• Participating in the out-of-hours call-out rota.

Essential qualifications and experience:

• NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation – essential

• AM2 Assessment – essential

• 2391 Inspection & Testing qualification – essential

• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations

• Previous domestic electrical maintenance experience.

• Social housing, council or housing association experience preferred.

• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.

• Good customer service and communication skills.

• Ability to work independently and manage a daily workload.

• Full UK Driving Licence.
