Job Description:
A growing construction business is looking for an experienced Estimator to join its team and support a strong pipeline of upcoming projects.
This is a hands-on estimating role suited to someone who understands the construction process and can confidently work through project documentation, costs, subcontractor pricing and tender submissions.
The RoleYou’ll be responsible for preparing accurate and commercially sound estimates and tenders across a range of construction projects.
Key responsibilities include:
Reviewing plans, specifications and tender documentation
Preparing detailed cost estimates and bills of quantities
Obtaining and analysing subcontractor and supplier pricing
Preparing tender submissions and supporting documentation
Identifying project costs, risks, exclusions and opportunities
Liaising with subcontractors, suppliers, clients and internal project teams
Maintaining estimating schedules and tender deadlines
Reviewing scope and ensuring estimates accurately reflect project requirements
Supporting the handover from estimating into project delivery
Contributing to pricing strategy and commercial decision-making
The ideal candidate will have:
Previous experience as a Construction Estimator
Strong understanding of construction costs and methodology
Experience preparing tenders and detailed project estimates
Ability to interpret drawings, plans and specifications
Strong subcontractor and supplier network
Good commercial and financial awareness
Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
Ability to manage multiple tenders and deadlines
Clear communication and stakeholder management skills
Relevant construction, building or estimating qualifications are advantageous
Experience across commercial construction or a similar project environment would be highly regarded.
