Job Description:
Electromechanical Field Service Engineer – Industrial Equipment
Location: South East
Salary: Competitive Package Overtime On-Call Allowance
Job Type: Permanent, Full Time
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Field Service Engineer to join a well-established, market-leading manufacturer of industrial weighing, inspection and labelling equipment.
This is a field-based position involving the installation, servicing, maintenance, and repair of specialist equipment used across manufacturing, packaging, and production environments.
The business offers excellent earning potential through overtime and additional allowances, alongside comprehensive training, strong benefits, and a genuine commitment to keeping engineers working within their designated regions, with minimal overnight stays.
The Role
- Service, maintain, diagnose and repair industrial weighing, inspection and labelling machinery.
- Carry out installations, commissioning and preventative maintenance at customer sites.
- Diagnose electrical, mechanical and electronic faults, ensuring equipment downtime is minimised.
- Provide technical support and advice to customers.
- Complete service reports and maintain accurate documentation.
- Manage your own workload across a designated regional territory.
About You
We're looking for a technically capable engineer with strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills and experience working on electromechanical equipment.
Relevant backgrounds could include:
- Industrial weighing, checkweighing, and inspection equipment
- Packaging machinery and automated production equipment
- Coding, marking, and industrial labelling systems
- Industrial printing machinery
- Vending machines and commercial coffee equipment
- Other electromechanical field service backgrounds
Previous experience with weighing equipment would be advantageous but is not essential, as training will be provided.
You'll ideally have previous field service experience, be comfortable working independently and possess excellent customer-facing skills. A full UK driving licence is essential.
What's on Offer?
- Competitive basic salary with excellent additional earning potential
- Regular overtime opportunities
- Paid on-call rota, predominantly telephone support with minimal physical call-outs (1 weekend per month)
- Company vehicle
- Private healthcare
- Life assurance
- 25 days' holiday plus bank holidays
- Retail discounts
- Comprehensive product training and ongoing development
- Regional travel with minimal overnight stays
This is a fantastic opportunity for an engineer looking to develop their technical skills with an established equipment manufacturer, without the extensive nationwide travel often associated with field service positions.
