Junior Project Manager

Apply

Job Description:

Junior Project Manager – Mechanical / Electrical

Location: East Midlands Nottingham
Salary: Up to £50,000 DOE

Are you from a mechanical or electrical background and looking for an opportunity to take the next step in your project management career?

We're working with a leading Facilities Management provider looking to appoint a Junior Project Manager to support the delivery of building services projects across the East Midlands.

This is a great opportunity for someone who already has a solid technical foundation and some exposure to project delivery, but is looking for the right environment to develop into a well-rounded Project Manager over the next 2–3 years.

The opportunity

You'll be joining an established team, supporting the delivery of mechanical and electrical projects across a portfolio of properties in the East Midlands.

Working alongside experienced project professionals, you'll gain exposure to the full project lifecycle, from initial planning and costing through to delivery, completion and handover.

This role would suit someone currently working as an Assistant Project Manager, Junior Project Manager, Project Engineer or an experienced M&E Supervisor looking to progress into project management.

You'll need to be confident enough to take responsibility, communicate with clients and contractors, and get involved in the day-to-day delivery of projects, while continuing to develop your commercial and project management skills.

What we're looking for

We're looking for someone with a strong technical background who has the ambition to develop into a fully competent Project Manager over the next few years.

Ideally, you'll have:

  • A mechanical or electrical background, ideally within building services, M&E or hard FM.

  • Some experience supporting or coordinating projects, whether in a Project Engineer, Supervisor, Assistant PM or Junior PM capacity.

  • An understanding of project delivery, including planning, programmes, budgets and contractor management.

  • Experience working with engineers, subcontractors and clients to coordinate works.

  • A good understanding of health and safety requirements within building services.

  • Strong communication and organisational skills, with the confidence to take ownership of tasks and see them through.

  • A proactive attitude, willingness to learn and genuine ambition to progress into a more senior project management role.
