Contract Site Manager – Food & Beverage Process Installations

Location: Newbury, Berkshire or Selby, North Yorkshire
Rate: £350 - £400 Per day Limited Company
Contract: Project-based support with an intermittent working pattern
Start: Planned for December 2026, ahead of the main workload in January 2027

The opportunity

ReeVR Talent is recruiting a Contract Site Manager for a specialist engineering business delivering turnkey process projects within food and beverage manufacturing.

The business has at least 12 months of project work secured and needs an experienced site professional to take responsibility for installation activities, coordinate subcontractors and keep work progressing safely and efficiently.

This would suit someone who enjoys working closely with a small engineering team and takes personal ownership of delivery.

The role

You will manage mechanical and electrical installation activities across live manufacturing sites, acting as the main point of coordination for site teams, subcontractors and the internal project team.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Planning and coordinating day-to-day installation activities.

  • Supervising welders, pipefitters and electrical subcontractors.

  • Maintaining safe working practices and compliance with site procedures.

  • Monitoring progress, workmanship and subcontractor productivity.

  • Coordinating work with client site teams to minimise disruption to production.

  • Identifying issues early and working with the project team to resolve them.

  • Reporting progress, resource requirements and risks to delivery.

  • Supporting the transition from installation into commissioning.

About you

You will have:

  • Experience as a Site Manager, Site Supervisor or Installation Manager on industrial process projects.

  • A background in food, beverage, dairy or comparable process manufacturing environments.

  • Experience coordinating mechanical installation, process pipework and electrical subcontractors.

  • Strong practical knowledge of site health and safety.

  • The confidence to manage experienced tradespeople, set clear expectations and address performance issues.

  • A proactive approach to solving problems and taking responsibility for project outcomes.

  • Flexibility to travel between Berkshire, North Yorkshire and other UK locations.

  • Availability for weekend working during busy installation periods.

Experience of liquid processing systems and hygienic process installations would be particularly relevant.

Working pattern

The requirement follows the installation programme. Busy periods may involve three to four weeks on site, including weekends, followed by gaps when site attendance is not required.

The initial plan is for a short bedding-in period before Christmas, with the main workload increasing in the new year.
