We are currently recruiting for an experienced and fully qualified Electrician to join a well-established social housing maintenance contractor covering properties throughout London.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled Electrician looking for a permanent position offering a competitive salary, excellent benefits and a manageable daily workload.

Although the contract covers the whole of London, electricians will only be required to work within ONE postcode area per day, minimising unnecessary travel between jobs.

The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out electrical repairs, maintenance and testing within occupied and void social housing properties.

• Carrying out reactive and planned electrical maintenance within social housing properties.

• Diagnosing and repairing electrical faults across domestic installations.

• Completing electrical repairs, including sockets, switches, lighting and associated wiring.

• Undertaking electrical testing, inspection and fault-finding.

• Carrying out consumer unit replacements and upgrades where required.

• Completing minor electrical installation works and remedial repairs.

• Ensuring all works comply with current electrical regulations and health and safety standards.

• Working within occupied properties, delivering excellent customer service to tenants.

• Completing job reports and updating work orders using handheld devices.

• Managing daily workloads efficiently to achieve first-time fixes.

• Liaising with planners, supervisors and residents to ensure repairs are completed within agreed timescales.

Essential:

• Valid JIB Gold Card – Mandatory.

• Fully qualified Electrician with NVQ Level 3 or equivalent recognised qualification.

• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671).

• Strong electrical fault-finding and diagnostic skills.

• Previous experience in domestic electrical installation and maintenance.

• Experience working within social housing or domestic maintenance environments is desirable.

• Full UK driving licence.

• Excellent communication and customer service skills.

• Ability to work independently and manage daily appointments.

Desirable:

• City & Guilds 2391 Inspection & Testing qualification or equivalent.

• Previous experience working on reactive maintenance contracts.

• Experience working within occupied and void social housing properties.

• £45,000 – £48,000 basic salary per annum.
