Job Description:
Our client is one of the UK’s leading Solar PV Operations and Maintenance providers, responsible for maintaining over 500+MW of solar installations across the UK. They are looking for enthusiastic, motivated and ambitious Solar PV Monitoring & Performance Manager to join their highly skilled and experienced team.
Responsibilities
- monitor daily and long-term performance of a number of solar assets/company sites using remote monitoring systems and other 3rd party
- Provide regular reporting on the status of solar assets and work with Asset Management to ensure downtime on projects is minimised
- Line manage the Monitoring & Performance Engineers.
- Management of the Monitoring & Performance Engineers rota with an appropriate IT system.
- Remotely monitor assets and immediately advise O&M Management and Asset Management of issues affecting site production and availability
- Ensure service delivery to O&M Management and Asset Management teams collaboratively.
- Assist with monitoring system development.
- Remotely monitor the portfolio of assets and ensure contractors are responding to site faults and errors on the equipment within agreed SLAs.
- Provide support to Asset Management, the Engineering team and the O&M team to diagnose and remedy operational problems.
- Provide direct input to the in-house reporting system and update existing spreadsheets
- Track equipment issues and defects throughout the entire lifetime of the assets.
- Maintain the site within the CMMS.
- Carry out regular reviews of the half hourly production data to ensure generation statements are in accordance with the PPA’s.
- Analyse the monitoring system data to identify current and historic long-term issues, faults and any patterns and report to the O&M team.
- Visit company sites to carry out regular inspections of solar projects.
- Maintain data security and confidentiality by using info within the parameters of the job role
- Collaborate with the Engineering team, O&M team, Contractors and Finance teams as necessary.
- Attend Asset Management, Company and handover meetings as required.
Requirements
- Recognised engineering qualification;
- Experience with computerised monitoring systems on plant and equipment (preferably solar)
- Advanced Excel skills (macros, visual basic etc);
- Interpretation of mechanical and electrical engineering drawings.
- Full UK Drivers license
Hours of Work
37 ½ hours per week, Monday to Friday (7:00 a.m.to 7:00 p.m shifts). Weekend work from 9:00 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. (rota basis). Shifts may include unsociable hours and/or weekends.
Location: Bristol (plus UK travel)
