Summary of the role

To support the Production and Engineering Managers in ensuring that operational and engineering efficiencies drive improved performance and growth through excellent operational and technical engineering process knowledge and CI / Lean / Six Sigma tools. To support cell manufacturing by effectively managing a team of Cell Team Leaders and Lead Machine Setters and ensure that the Engineering Team is fully supportive in delivering the Company targets and KPI's. To lead with a presence on the shop floor as an ambassador and role model for company core values and behaviours and embed a culture of pride within the working environment. To ensure that good manufacturing, engineering practices and standards of cleanliness are adhered to and to promote best practice in accordance with H&S and Quality regulations.

SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFCATIONS

• Previous experience in a similar management role
• CI / Lean / 6 Sigma / Value Stream Mapping / Poke Yoke / 8D
• Leading a team on a shift-based system
• Ability to prioritise, manage a number of tasks concurrently and meet deadlines
• Demonstrate good leadership skills
• Problem solving (systematic, analytical approach)
• Pro-active management of people issues
• Management of major process change
• Good commercial awareness
• People and Performance Management; including carrying out appraisals
