Job Description

Your main responsibilities as a Communications Advisor will involve:

Proactively planning and implementing a variety of external and internal communication activities to support the delivery of the Maritime Services business strategy and the BAE System's wider Maritime sector as appropriate

Supporting the planning and delivery of public relations activities for promotion of our business activities

Innovative management of digital channels including our website and social media, and providing expertise on digital channels including Social Media, seizing opportunities to promote the business

Providing support in managing crisis communications

Supporting the Senior Communications Manager to develop and deliver the external and internal communications agenda for Maritime Services.

Supporting reputation management activities internally and externally

Your skills and qualifications as a Communications Advisor:

Entrepreneurial, self-starting and original.

Both a thinker and doer.

Digital and Social Media communications knowledge and experience

External AND/OR internal communications experience

Communication campaign planning experience

Customer/client support experience within either internal/external communications

Influencing and negotiation skills

Understanding of effective digital communications practices and channels

Research and evaluation experience

Defence sector knowledge advantageous but not essential

Experience of liaising with journalists and working in a PR role is desirable
