This is an excellent opportunity to join a fast-growing business that builds bespoke energy networks. Our client designs, builds and operates district energy systems, and they are looking for a product manager to join the team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the continued growth and development of our client’s meter reading, billing and reporting platform.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of new features
• Manage the full product lifecycle including feature scoping and solution design, creation of business and functional requirements through consultation, documentation, project management, and ongoing product development
• Identify bugs and manage fixes
• Own the key features of the platform roadmap and strategy
• Be the interface between the business and the development team to help translate business product requirements into scope documents, ensuring mutual understanding and minimising time to market
• Assist the product development team to meet the objectives of each sprint, and assist in the rollout and implementation of new releases of the platform
• Provide platform expertise and support across the business, and be the knowledge-owner of the platform’s capabilities
• Continually review the market to ensure our development programme remains fit for purpose
• Manage the budget of the project
• Manage third party interfaces and integrations
• Ensure compliance with GDPR, Heat Trust guidelines and Heat Metering Regulation
• Support the commercial and customer service teams on bids and presentations on the platform’s capabilities

Requirements

• A background in Software Engineering, and exposure to Python
• Previous experience as a Technical Project Manager/Owner
• Experience in the utility market – ideally in metering and billing systems
• Experience with Scrum Agile methodology – ideally over 1 year Scrum Master experience
• Be an organised self-starter, confident and comfortable driving a development team to ensure targets are met
• Strong communication skills, written and verbal – you should be comfortable communicating with all stakeholders within the business, and with their diverse client base
• Be a natural problem solver with an eye for innovative solutions
• Ability to be flexible depending on role requirements and timings, and have an interest in fast and changeable markets
• Attention to detail, and a desire and drive to constantly question, challenge and better the status quo
