Our client develops, designs, constructs, operates and maintains high performing utility-scale renewable energy projects throughout the UK and Europe. They are currently seeking to hire a Senior Electrical Engineer to take a lead engineering role within the technical department, with a focus on commercial scale and utility scale solar and energy storage projects.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for LV electrical design package (module to AC output, wiring, modelling, electronic protection circuits, j-boxes, maximum voltage, site performance etc.) using modelling software and analysis.
• Supports on the HV design package for all projects.
• Reviews and challenges (where required) engineering documentation from suppliers and contractors which inputs into the overall design and engineering package.
• Work closely with the development and operational delivery teams to carry out technical due diligence on all projects.
• Ensuring compliance with design and technical codes and standards.
• Maintain awareness of new product technologies and lead technical relationships with key suppliers.
• Compilation of concise and comprehensive technical reports to support bids and tendering, and innovation and development.
• Support for consultancy projects.

Requirements

• A degree in Electrical Engineering or similar electrical engineering qualifications.
• Experience of design of solar PV systems and products.
• Experienced with solar PV system design, inverters, wiring, grounding and performance monitoring.
• Technically proficient in the field of electrical design, direct current circuits and preferably protection designs with a working knowledge of solar PV system modelling.
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills with internal and external customers.
