Responsibilities include:

1. Control Systems Architecture, including definition of Control layout (Controllers, busses, HMI, Component selection.
2. Software Architecture.
3. Working with a team of electronic, mechanical and systems engineers to join up strategy.
4. Analysis & Simulation - Using Simulink
5. Use of Simulations for SIL & HIL rig development
6. Embedded Autocode generation, hand coding in C advantageous.
7. Calibration and Set up of Rigs for testing.
8. Proof of working to good coding standards

Experience:

1. Designing and commissioning performance-critical electrical and / or hydraulic control systems in a similar field - e.g. Automotive, Aerospace, Marine or defence
2. Previous experience of HEV control systems - eMotor control, battery management systems and DC-DC convertors is desirable
3. Control system software development - ideally both in C and Simulink or equivalent
4. Model development in a physical modelling tool (Simulink, Dymola, Amesim or equivalent)
5. Whole-system understanding: including electrical, hydraulic, control, calibration, and mechanical aspects
6. Distributed control systems development
7. Vehicle network communications - CAN, LIN, Flexray, NMEA 2000
8. Practical Electrical / electronic experience would be useful but is not vital
