Job Description:

The Engineering Project Manager is a full-time permanent position and is responsible for providing Project Management and Controls expertise to Gattaca Project's growing Project Management Office and Engineering department. Accountable for supporting the establishment and implementation of Project Management techniques across the Engineering department ensuring that the portfolio of projects is delivered within budget and timescale. To continually assess and report the performance of the projects and support continuous improvement. Employ stakeholder management through client/supplier liaison and co-operation within Gattaca Projects. Project values will typically range from £100K to £10M.

Accountabilities & Key Responsibilities

Accountable for supporting establishing and executing Project Management and Controls ensuring engineering design solutions are delivered within budget and timescale and in accordance with the appropriate project processes and procedures. Ensure compliance with Gattaca Projects and quality, environmental, safety, and health requirements, in all activities undertaken.

Key responsibilities include:

-Plan, manage and report on budgets, schedule and progress within the Earned Value Management (EVM) Environment to ensure delivery of Engineering to scope, time, cost and quality requirements, in compliance with Gattaca Projects processes and UK legal requirements.

-Support management of the Engineering departments risk items, including identification and mitigation.

-Adhere to the Gattaca Projects Quality Management System

-Support the Head of Engineering to deliver the expected service and outcomes to clients,

-Determine and implement the optimal approach for organising and executing projects, including the agreed tailoring of processes and Management Plans.

For Engineering projects, ensure Project Management principles are implemented adequately ensuring:

-The scope, change, and the work breakdown of each project is identified and managed.

-The schedule of each project is created and maintained.

-All milestones are known and achieved.

-Each project has a comprehensive resource requirement to budgetary targets.

-Personnel undertaking project management activities meet the requirement to be Suitably Qualified and Experienced Persons and provide appropriate management and leadership.

-Hardware, software and data transfer needs for each project are known and met.

-Required processes are identified, recorded and distributed.

-Understanding of the standards and clients expectations for each project.

-Spend and invoicing for each project is performed in a timely manner.

-Forecasting and reporting of each projects' cost and schedule performance is performed, assessed, refined and reported to Senior Management.

-Risks, assumptions, issues, dependencies, exclusions, opportunities and constraints are identified, recorded and managed.

-Opportunities to implement continuous improvement models (Six Sigma, PDCA, Gemba Walks, Kaizen, 5 Why's, 3M's, etc.) are executed.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

-Sound understanding of Project Management Principles.

-Ability to produce reports, processes, work instructions and presentations. Experience in application of quality standards and procedures.

-Demonstrates autonomy in management of own time and workload to meet key milestones.

-Capable of maintaining effectiveness in a pressurised work environment.

-Good oral, written and presentational skills with a particular aptitude for report, documentation and letter writing.

-Experience of team planning, working and reporting within multi-discipline project teams in a highly regulated industry.

-Excellent management skills including problem solving, decision making and effective resource (people, budget, equipment) coordination.

-Evidence of successfully leading cross-functional teams in a complex project environment.

-Demonstrable knowledge of Project Management practices.

-Experience of initiating, directing and conducting risk and opportunity identification and management.

-Good, clear and concise communication style (oral and written), with the ability to compile and present documents to both internal and external peers and Senior Managers.

-Familiarity with standard office software including word processors, spreadsheets, e-mail, presentations and databases.

-Academically qualified with a recognised university Engineering (or equivalent) degree qualified desirable.

-Registered Project Management Professional and Membership of a Project Management institution.

-Proven experience in relevant industry.

Further requirements

-Full UK driving license.

-Willing to travel within UK and internationally (holding a valid UK passport).

-Committed to carrying out the continuing professional development necessary to ensure competence in areas and at the level of future intended practice.

-Basic security clearance desirable

- Ability to obtain Basic and SC Security Clearance desirable
