Job Description:
Our client, a well-known utilities organisation is requiring a Project Communications Specialist to join their team in Worthing on a 12 month fixed term contract.
The project transition specialist is a role which will support the programme delivery by assessing the needs for project transition activities. This includes:
- Process / process improvement assessment
- Project communications in conjunction with PMO and Internal Communications Team
- Facilitation with Service Management and BAU functions
- Alignment of communication activities to business case and benefits realisation/success criteria to promote programme success
- Act as the point of contact between the programme and the Corporate Communications Team
Scope of role
- In conjunction with the Programme Manager and Project Managers, draft communications for the Programme to ensure that all employees fully understand the need for change and new ways of working
- Manage and maintain the Programmes Communication Plan in conjunction with the Programme Manager and Business Lead ensuring the cadence of communications is actively maintained and delivered to time and schedule.
- Ensure all communication messaging is in line with the overarching programme themes, key messages plus stakeholder 'speak' and segmentation as outlined in the communication plan;
- spotlighting the key tangible user benefits "what's in it for me"
- considering the needs and impact to the intended audience
- written in language that users will understand (plain English - avoiding acronyms, programme and SW jargon)
- Provide communication guidance to the Programme, and Project Managers and the Business lead.
- Put forward initiatives in line with the overall programme Communications Plan that support and enhance the effective visibility of the Programme by making full use of the available Corporate Communication channels (including but not limited to Staff Announcements, Notices, Workplace, Ops Matters, Blogs/Vlogs etc.)
- Act as the liaison between the Programme and the Corporate Communications Team for publication of material across corporate channels ensuring all material is line with, and in adherence to the SW Corporate guidelines
- Liaise with the Corporate Design Team on material required to support the Programme ensuring the established Programme identity is maintained
- Work with the Business Transition Specialist to gain an insight of other programme activity and ensure the Programme Communication Plan activities consider dependencies and communication activities of other programmes and projects
Knowledge/experience:
- Demonstrable understanding of Project Delivery, project planning, PMO processes and standards
- Project transition activities, including process and operating model assessment, knowledge transfer activities
- Ability to influence stakeholders and change
- Degree or qualification in a relevant subject
Capability:

- Excellent communication (oral and written) and presentation skills
- Ability to track and report the effectiveness of the communication channels
12 month fixed term contract, based in Worthing but remote work still currently due to current circumstances. Salaries available in the region of £50,000 per annum depending on experience.
