The Quality Engineer will be responsible for providing comprehensive quality support within the factory.

Specific responsibilities will include the following:-

• Monitor and communicate RFT (right first time) figures daily and weekly to production/process personnel
• Derive and analyse COPQ (cost of poor quality) data, determining causes and proposing actions to reduce it to meet corporate targets
• Monitor customer complaints, liaising with Sales and Manufacturing to determine causes and propose corrective actions
• Manage all Specials supplier complaints
• Maintain and audit all Specials quality documentation; Quality Plans, Procedures, Test Methods
• Manage all BASEC product pickups, supplying samples, communicating evaluation results with manufacturing/process engineering/product engineering and putting onto place corrective actions for any product failures
• Manage all internal non-conformances, making decisions on the suitability of material to go to the customer, arranging re-work in collaboration with planning and deriving corrective actions with manufacturing/process engineering
• Undertake Quick Process Audits (QPA's)
• Ensure that the programme of internal product audits (sample testing) is completed according to the current programme, doing the actual testing (co-ordinating with the Fire Test laboratory) and reporting results
• Act as hosts for both BASEC and LPCB auditing, accompanying them on factory tours and auditing of procedures/documents
• Audit calibration of equipment and undertake calibration of machine length gauges.
• Maintain QAD laboratory

The successful candidate will ideally be educated to degree level in a Technical discipline and have proven manufacturing quality-related experience. The successful candidate will be highly self-motivated with an enthusiastic, analytical and hands-on approach.
