The role is a Principal Engineer grade position operating as an Engineering Project Lead. This role is specifically working with Japan as part of a new business venture within the company. As a result cultural awareness and sensitivity is necessary with ability in the Japanese language being desirable, but not essential.

The successful candidate must have a relevant background with defence systems, preferably weapon systems. Ideally applicants will have knowledge of missile guidance and seeker technology, or similarly complex engineering that is transferable, including its design, proving and integration.

It is important the candidate is comfortable in leading a multidisciplinary engineering team and interfacing directly with a complex customer. The ability to concisely plan, deliver and report activity progress up to Chief Engineer level is required.

Travel to Japan is expected as part of the role so a degree of flexibility and willingness to travel is needed.
