Ethics & Compliance Investigations Senior Associate

 

Our client has a dedicated team of Human Resources Investigators in a Center of Expertise, with additional qualified Investigators in HR employed around the world.  High-risk investigations into employee misconduct require higher levels of oversight and governance.  Certain high-risk investigations, not conducted by Company Legal under the Attorney-Client Privilege, still require this level of oversight. 

This role will direct the qualified investigator in deep understanding of the alleged high-risk misconduct, ensuring the investigation plan is appropriate and complete (including employee interviews, document review, data collection), conducting appropriate root cause analysis with the investigator and appropriate business personnel, and driving business leadership in defining and implementing effective corrective and preventive actions (“CAPA”).  This role will also oversee documentation of required data in the HR case management system for such high-risk investigations.  This position will report into the Cork-based Forensic Monitoring and Investigations Lead.  Training, qualification and oversight in directing an investigation will be provided by the Global Ethics and Compliance function.


Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Provide oversight to global investigators to ensure high risk, non-privileged investigations are conducted appropriately and effectively.
  • Direct qualified global investigators in conducting high-risk, non-privileged investigations.
  • Ensure any allegation is well understood, defined, and documented by the global investigator.
  • Provide oversight for the written investigation plan, including interviews, document review, and data collection, all to uncover the root cause of the misconduct.
  • Provide ongoing subject-matter expertise to qualified investigator during the investigation process.
  • Assess findings by the qualified investigator, assess preliminary root cause, and recommend a conclusion.
  • Partner with Affiliate Ethics & Compliance Officers (“ECO”) to ensure clear understanding of the alleged misconduct and identified root cause. 
  • Support the ECO in communicating identified misconduct and root cause, and drive business leadership to develop, document, and implement effective CAPA to mitigate future recurrence.
  • Ensure the investigations case management system documentation of allegation, investigation, resolution, root cause, and CAPA is thorough and complete.

Basic Requirements:

 

  • Proficiency in English language
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Prior experience as investigator, auditor or ethics and compliance monitor
  • Strong communication skills
  • Technical skills with attention to details
  • Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to be employed in Ireland
  • Juris Doctorate or equivalent, OR CPA or equivalent, OR Certified Fraud Examiner
