Our client has established a reputation for winning new business in the UK and overseas by utilising its role as a systems integrator and technology provider. They pride themselves on their ability to meet client requirements in an agile and responsive way.

The ideal candidate should have several years of experience in the financial management of projects, putting together bids for new projects and negotiating and agreeing to contracts. He or she must be able to work fast and accurately to meet the most demanding programme timelines. The successful applicant will have a track record of success in overseeing projects from inception to completion and identifying and mitigating risks involved. This role involves developing and managing a cross-functional team with a variety of skills and experience, as well as collaborating with other departments. The successful applicant will have great communication, teamwork, leadership and analytical skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare business cases for potential and contracted projects
  • Provide the advice on project feasibility to the Senior Management Team
  • Develop accurate and consistent bids with the help of relevant departments
  • Identify opportunities to expand our client's business, including through partnerships, mergers and new markets
  • Analyse sales, marketing, finance and other reports to gain insights into how to improve performance and maximise growth
  • Provide line management to the Solutions Team
  • Working with the PMO, manage daily operations, including employee training and development, contract negotiations and production planning
  • Assess risks involved with new initiatives, ensure deadlines are met and be ready to handle unexpected situations

A proven track record of commercial management is essential for this position.

Qualifications

  • Must have at least 3 years of experience as a commercial manager
  • Strong communication, sales and presentation skills
  • Ability to multitask and prioritise projects
  • Superb negotiation capabilities
  • MBA preferred but not necessary with relevant experience
  • Must be team-focused and results focused
  • Finance background is an advantage but not essential as long as the candidate is familiar with the production of financial models/business cases and business plans.

Employment package

  • Salary dependant on experience
  • Work based in London or near Swansea (currently working from home)
  • Laptop and phone provided
  • 25 days leave annually
  • TOIL earner for anytime worked overseas
  • 37.5 hour working week, 8:30am-17:00pm Mon-Thurs 1 hour unpaid lunch break, 8:30am-14:00pm Friday no lunch break
  • Travel allowance (varies depending on role)
