The Submarine Delivery Agency (SDA) have an exciting opportunity to join the Dreadnought Supply & Support Team (DSST) as a Supply Chain Manager (SCM). If you have experience in Global Logistics Governance / Policy, Project Management and Complex Projects, then this could be the ideal opportunity for you.

DSST is responsible for delivering Government Furnished Assets (GFA), including equipment, information and resources, into the Dreadnought Design and Build Programme, and for managing the transition of Dreadnought into the Royal Navy. This includes establishing the through life support solution, ensuring training provision for Dreadnought's maintainers and crew and establishing both the physical and information infrastructure to support Dreadnought in-service. DSST is a 90-strong team based in Abbey Wood with outstations in Barrow, Connecticut and Washington D.C. and close working relationship with other parts of the SDA and wider MOD, the Dreadnought Alliance, US Government and UK and US industry.

The GFA Asset Management Team is responsible for the receipt and handover of GFA to the Dreadnought Programme and, being the DSST in yard presence, is the onsite presence for logistics collaboration and delivery issue resolution.

Key to success will be your ability to engage with a wide customer base including industry, the wider MOD and suppliers. You must have the ability to manage stakeholders and offer robust challenges with a collaborative approach, working on a pan function basis through engagement with your colleagues. You will need to recognise when deliverables and/or services are not being delivered to the required level of quality or standard or time and take appropriate action in a timely manner based on sound analysis of all information gathered.

Responsibilities

* Developing, managing and maintaining a plan for ensuring all Asset Management (AM) documentation is up to date and being adhered to

* Ensuring all MoD/ Government policy is incorporated and adhered to as well as aligning this to wider Dreadnought processes and practices

* Support MoD Inventory Accounting and Export Control with respect to GFA

* Develop a process and plan for discharging DSST AM responsibilities in terms of monitoring BAE Systems Assets in Industry (AiI) performance and liaising with BAE Systems, the Defence Internal Audit (DIA) and Support Enablers Operating Centre (SEOC) teams, on all stocktaking issues and conformance to managing AiI

* Co-ordinating and overseeing Onsite Management checks and controls of all Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) assets held onsite, predominantly under BAE custodianship. Interfacing with the DSST Quality lead / Principal Naval Overseer (PNO) as applicable * Generation of the monthly Asset Management Performance Information

* Delegation to and supervision of 1 person, based at BAE in Barrow-in-Furness

* Deputise for the GFA AM Lead in with respect to PSA Categorisation and Risk in the first instance and in all other matters in the absence of the Logistics Manager

* Day to day personnel management, including any applicable recruitment and oversight / support to any applicable business enabling activities

  • Experience of working in a delivery environment within a range of Logistics, Policy and Project Management disciplines working with SCM and external authorities
  • Experience of project management within complex programmes, including development of Management Information and subsequent reporting
  • Ability to pro-actively identify problem areas and adapt them
  • Strong communication, reporting and leadership skills to enable engagement with stakeholders at all levels
  • Good understanding of Logistics, Supply Chain principles, Governance, Finance and Policy

It may benefit your application should be able to demonstrate the following desirable criteria:

  • Experience and understanding of defining, maintaining and/or working to specific governance regimes and policies in a logistic environment (comparable to the requirements detailed in Def Stan 05 - 99 ref: F)
  • Good MS Office skills
