A unique and exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and accomplished Environmental Monitoring & Reporting Manager to join the Southern water team on a full-time permanent basis. The location for this role is flexible, so could be performed from our Chatham, Durrington, Falmer or Otterbourne sites. This highly important position sits within our brilliant Risk and Compliance department, and offers a competitive salary up to £70,734, a monthly car allowance and a range of other company benefits.

Job Overview:
The Environmental Monitoring and Reporting Manager will ensure the design and effective delivery of the environmental monitoring programme and compliance across wastewater operations, oversee and assure environmental reporting to the EA and drive compliance and performance across all environmental operations.

Accountabilities:
Accountable for the creation/delivery of the wastewater analytical and sampling programmes to meet efficiently the quality/compliance/business needs and regulatory requirements, as well as the management of wastewater services laboratory contract performance and cost. You will also be responsible for instrumentation information management process, equipment accreditation and monitoring of flow and for the identification and investigation of atypical trends in wastewater performance monitoring. You will adhere with the ISO9001, ISO17025 and MCERTS accreditation standards and you'll be responsible for continuous improvement and support of operational process science team. Other accountabilities include providing compliance advice across the wastewater sites, maintenance of the Environmental Management System and managing a team of both direct and indirect repots.

What you'll bring to the role:
Significant experience in environmental regulation, reporting requirements and monitoring compliance across the company, alongside proven experience in a line management role within a technical environment. You'll be able to demonstrate a good understanding of the regulatory environment for water and wastewater operations, management and leaderships skills with the ability to motivate and drive and will ideally hold a Scientific honours degree.
