Job Description:

Principal Accountabilities :

Plan and execute the ATC communication, surveillance display and information systems installation and acceptance activities to ensure the site timescales are achieved in accordance with NATS/third party equipment provider standards.

With suitable training and initial supervision by the original equipment supplier, install and carry out both commissioning and acceptance tests for the new ATC systems to the required standard in a timely and professional manner.

Carry out all installation and acceptance test activities in accordance with Military Processes and Standards e.g. Joint Service Publications (JSP) 480 to ensure any potential risk to the customer ATC operation is mitigated as far as possible.

Investigate and seek resolution of any ATC equipment faults that arise through the installation, commissioning and acceptance phases of the site programme.

Job Scope

The post holder is required to manage and execute one or more equipment commissioning activities within a single tower integration task. The post holder has to resolve conflicts of his/her time, in consultation with the Tower Integration Team Leader.

There is a requirement for strategic planning in this post as the new ATC equipment will need commissioning and accepting which means the post holder will need to liaise closely with NATS colleagues and the MOD customer at the site (the latter via the Tower Integration Team Leader).

The post holder will contribute to the successful transition of new ATC equipment into operational service at each site in addition to the Tower Integration Team Leader and installation technicians.

The post holder will need to be able to work as part of a team or unsupervised using their own initiative.

Due to the nature of the Project MARSHALL new ATC equipment rollout strategy across many MOD sites, flexibility to work outside of normal working hours (nights and weekends) and able to consistently work away from home (in the UK and overseas) each week is essential.

The post holder will deliver structured maintainer training within their field of expertise and in accordance with NATS procedures.
