THE COMPANY:

A rapidly rising garage group that are acquiring new and successful garage businesses across the UK to expand their portfolio.

THE ROLE OF AN OPERATIONS DIRECTOR:

As the operations director, you will be overseeing and responsible for the day to day running of the business. This will be a challenging role the will evolve and develop within time, as the business model grows and expands.

You will be responsible for a large number of activities, which will include:

• Overseeing recent acquisitions and managing the change of ownership and structure
• Looking at recent acquisitions to identify areas which need modernising
• Implementing positive changes such as introducing CRM’s / Software / Reporting etc..
• Immersing yourself in the businesses in the short term, moving to then a longer term, remote management model
• Recruiting new staff (garage / workshop managers etc…)
• Working with the board on a framework for new acquisitions
• Managing P&L

This is fantastic opportunity for the right person with the organisation looking to progress this individual to a Managing Director role in the future. There is an aggressive growth strategy in place with the resources required to implement it and where you will play a central part on not only advising future direction, but once that direction has been decided, helping to put the plan and changes required in to place.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Ideally we are searching for someone who has experience of working with / within the garage & workshop marketplace. This could be from various routes including fast-fit, franchised dealership or the independent sector. Another potential route for someone’s experience is if they understand how a garage operates but has dealt with them from a different angle (for example motor factor / distribution)

Your background may well have come from branch, regional or director level management.

Just as important as the experience, is the attributes of the individual. We are looking for someone who is:

• Entrepreneurial 
• Understand how a garage / workshop operates
• Profit / Margin focused
• Capable of remote management
• Understand and embrace new technologies & methods of working
• Happy to travel
• Doesn’t need hand holding
• A good people manager
