Our client are a growing property management business are looking to recruit two fully qualified Gas Engineer with plumbing experience to join their in-house maintenance team to carry out a varied role including installations, servicing and repairing of gas appliances and heating systems, based in their Manchester and Liverpool locations.

Duties will include

• Fitting of full central heating systems
• Fitting of full bathrooms
• Fault diagnosis and repair of modern and traditional boilers and the carrying out of repairs to central heating systems, including fitting new pumps, motorised valves and radiators and adapting pipework as necessary.
• Ensure all Landlord Gas Safety Certification and documentation is completed accurately
• Carrying out checks on the equipment to ensure safety of the appliances and ordering new parts
• Working in tight, confined spaces around where boilers are usually placed
• Installing the new equipment and removing the old appliances from the property
• Being called out to look at gas leaks; using equipment to locate the fault and then repairing the issue quickly and efficiently
• Ability to keep track of your work through writing up reports on the work you’ve done within the day or at a particular property and give accurate quotes or bills
• Communicating with the clients to make them feel at ease

Skills and experience required

• Gas Safe Registration and the relevant industry qualification
• Previous experience as a gas engineer/technician
• NVQ (or equivalent) in plumbing
• Previous experience working on bathrooms and general domestic plumbing works
• A full UK driving license
• A passion to work in the gas and heating industry
• Excellent practical skills and knowledge in the appliances you are working with, alongside good mathematics and basic IT skills
• Good customer service, through being communicative, friendly, responsible and understanding of the customers’ issues
• Ability to work alone and be proactive in your approach with excellent time management
• Ability to follow instructions and be assertive in your decision-making skills
• Attention to detail to ensure every job you do is carried out to a high standard
