Clerk of Works

My client are a multi-discliplined construction consultancy and have an exciting opportunity for a Clerk of Works / Site Inspector to join their team. This role as a clerk of works is an integral part of their construction consultancy practice and as such are looking for someone from a similar role to join them on a permanent basis.

The purpose will be to ensure the quality of all new build homes under construction for their many clients. You will be responsible for carrying out regular site visits to ensure that building works are carried out in accordance with the specifications and conditions of the contract. Working with the wider Employers Agent team, you will inspect and report on progress, quality of workmanship, Health & Safety provisions, passive fire stopping installations on all key stages works, along with pre completion snagging and de-snagging.

About You:

The ideal candidate will have proven experience in a technical site based role so will be able to demonstrate experience of working on construction projects of various sizes. You will have a good working knowledge of building/technical practices as well as related legislation and health & safety issues. A member of the ICWCI or equivalent construction related professional body (CIOB, C Build Eng. etc), you will hold a CSCS card and will have the ability to interpret technical drawings/specifications and identify potential issues with the quality of construction.

Good oral & written communication and organisational skills are expected, Computer literacy in Microsoft applications and other bespoke site reporting software would be an advantage.

Due to the nature of the role it is essential that you have access to transport for work purposes as travelling to sites will be a significant amount of the role.
