Our client is a global facilities management and building services organisation. Due to continued success within a blue-chip contract, they now have the need for an experienced and qualified Quantity Surveyor to join the company and cover a prestigious, well known major UK retail contract.

This is a key position, managing the contractual, commercial and financial aspects within the retail contract supporting the operations team in delivering projects within timescales and budgets, ensuring high levels of customer care and service delivery at all times.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • To support the operations and commercial team to maintain project expenditure within budget and in compliance with administrative procedures.
  • To be involved in negotiation of prices and obtaining quotes for works, materials and plant as required in compliance with company procedure.
  • To quality check invoice details from all suppliers, ensuring customer gets value for money on all jobs carried out.
  • To build strong relationships with the customer to ensure open communication and expectations of invoicing is always met.
  • To negotiate and challenge contractors on cost queries when required to deliver excellent service.
  • To prepare and agree priced schedules of work utilising existing schedules of rates.
  • To notify, price and agree variations within required timescales as set out in the contract documentation and in compliance with commercial procedures.
  • To carry out valuations and agree applications for payment at regular intervals as set out in the contract documentation and in compliance with commercial procedures.
  • To prepare and submit regular and accurate cost/value reports in compliance with the laid-down commercial procedures.

 

In order to be considered for this role, you will ideally need to be educated to Degree level or have similar experience in a business or technical discipline.

Experience of managing multiple sites, previous experience of developing client relationships at a stake holder level is essential.

Strong PC literacy, with experience in extracting, collating and presenting performance data and strong communication skills, both written and verbal are also required.
