Salary of an Engineering/CI Manager

IRO £55,000 plus bonus and pension

Job Description of an Engineering/CI Manager

The postholder will plan and control all engineering activity, implement the departmental strategy to ensure continuity of production and assist site engineers in a hands-on manner with respect to engineering and continuous Improvement.

Achieve KPIs and quality levels

Ensure a robust system is in place to prioritise and implement brake down maintenance work on a daily basis.

Liaise with purchasing to determine business critical spares, and to ensure adequate stock levels are maintained.

Implement and review departmental objectives to achieve KPI’s

Control departmental budget for engineering R&M on an annual basis, ensuring expenditure is within budgeted levels.

Liaise with SHE manager to ensure machine, personnel and contractor safety.

Lead project teams for improvement projects on specified productivity increase and waste reduction initiatives.

Skills & experience of an Engineering/CI Manager

The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate an understanding of engineering principles & lean methodology, have strong organisational and written/verbal communication skills, extensive knowledge of manufacturing business process and the ability to lead, coach, mentor and influence others.

This role will suit someone who is proactive, personable and ambitious.

Ideally the postholder will have Degree in Engineering / Manufacturing techniques or extensive experience, IOSH Managing Safely and Green Belt / Black Belt in Lean six sigma methodology would be an immediate advantage.
