Project Engineer - Radar Project Controller - 17 month contract - Warton, Preston - £27.84ph UMB or £22ph PAYE (Inside IR35)

The Umbrella rate quoted above is the Gross Umbrella rate (i.e. the rate we pay to the Umbrella Company inclusive of ALL employment costs). Please note, the rate paid by the Umbrella will be less, as will a Limited Deemed rate or Agency PAYE rate. Please get in touch to discuss the rates via these different payment vehicles.

This role will require you to hold or be eligible to obtain Security Clearance (SC). You will need to obtain a Criminal Record Check and you must be eligible to work in the UK without sponsorship and have lived and worked in the UK for a minimum 5 year period. Job description:

There is an opportunity within the E-Scan Radar IPT team to join a high profile and challenging delivery organisation.

As a Senior Project Engineer, you will be part of delivering of the Project Control Systems of the Radar development contracts working across multi discipline teams and ensuring deliverables are provide to time, cost and quality.

Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be required to perform tasks suitable to the internal level of this role. The role will contain, but will not be limited to, the following:

Principal Accountabilities include:

  1. Maintain CAM Reporting, Change and Risk & Opportunity management through the PCS:
  • Support in establishing a robust PCS and in setting up a drumbeat in maintaining it.
  • Establish and maintain the Risk & Opps management
  • Monthly maintenance of CAM Pack and associated key messages
  • CAM Schedule update and ensure scheduling governance is maintained on the integrated schedule

  1. To support the delivery of Radar scope within BAE Systems:
  • Liaise with Radar delivery team to ensure programme integration across multi discipline team.
  • Ensure baseline schedule and reporting topical.
  • Report financial performance through the CSR.
  • Interfacing with the customer on regular status reporting of the contract

Specific Role Accountabilities:

  • Monitor and report Radar deliverables within BAE Systems Workshare
  • Maintain rolling wave detailed programmes with the multi discipline delivery teams
  • Support to establish a robust PCS that is used to manage the contract
  • Identify and manage key issues on the schedule governance and critical path within BAE workshare.
  • Establish and run multi-functional and multi CAMs sessions to review Management and Technical Risks.
  • Working closely with the other members of the IPT, maintain the BAE interfaces within the integrated plan across CAM and contract teams.

The Senior Project Engineer - Radar programmes will have the following key skills:

  • Ability to translate often complex technical / programme issues, into tangible targets and briefings.
  • Ability to secure the engagement and support of functional leads up to and including Delivery Director / Chief Engineer level
  • Ability to positively influence Technical CAM activities to optimise business outputs.
  • Ability to synthesis and communicate complex project information for internal stakeholders

The individual:

Senior Project Control Engineer Radar Programmes

  • Reporting to the Radar Programmes Project Control Manager who is responsible for the management of PCS of Radar IPT scope within BAE Systems.
  • The candidate must be good with Microsoft Office Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project and Outlook
  • Effective Communication, Team Working Resilient, Numerical Aptitude Competence, Presentation, Scheduling and Project control are Essential
  • Verbal Reasoning Competence and Diagrammatic Logic Competence are desirable
