Exciting opportunity for a Financial Accountant to join a global market leading manufacturing organisation in the Hampshire area
Financial Account Responsibilities:
Liaise with external auditors and internal support functions to ensure timely delivery of statutory accounts
Support local finance teams and FBS accountants with month-end process
Balance sheet review and report
Account reconciliations
General ledger accounting and review
Month end closing journal entries
Manual journal entries check and documentation
Part of small Centre of Excellence Team (COE) team in financial shared service model (FBS) in a multi-national company
Prepares and supports statutory reporting for UK and European subsidiaries
Develops, implements and/or maintains one or more accounting systems: Journal entries, General Ledger (local and USGAAP)
Supports and challenges centralised accounting functions in FBS model
Project-lead work around constant improvement in financial processes (eg shorter close; improvements in intercompany process, integration work with new head office)
Assist in the preparation of federal, state and local reports (eg ONS) and tax returns
Interpret reports and records for managers/stakeholders
Review compliance with SOX controls at local level
Involved in reviewing and tracking information in the financial systems, ensuring accuracy and compliance with U.S. GAAP and other accounting regulations
Liaise with worldwide finance community on issues as they arise
Ad-hoc accounting duties as directed
 
Experience/Qualifications of the Financial Accountant:
 
SAP knowledge highly desirable
MS Outlook and other Microsoft product also highly desirable
Excel (Advanced) essential
SOX knowledge advantageous
Experience with Blackline closing tool (or similar) advantageous
Good written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work effectively independently and with cross functional teams at multiple locations
