We are working for a leading, state of the art fabrication manufacturer of bespoke products in their search for a new Mechanical Design Engineer.

Salary of a Mechanical Design Engineer

Up to £40,000

Job Description of a Mechanical Design Engineer

• Design of mechanical assemblies, working on new product development using 3D CAD systems and PLM.
• Build solid relationships with suppliers, liaise with internal stakeholders and ensure deliverables can be met in a timely fashion.
• Working independently and collaboratively, bringing new products to market.

Skills & experience of a Mechanical Design Engineer

• A genuine passion for design.
• Degree level in mechanical engineering or similar.
• Competency using 3D Cad packages, ideally Solidworks.
• Understanding of tolerance stacks.
• Confidence in dealing with suppliers.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes e.g. castings, injection moulding, aluminium and plastic extrusions, manual fabrication &CNC machining.
• Experience using PDM/PLM software.
