Job Description:
My client is a well-established engineering company seeking a Manufacturing Design Engineer to join their team based in Bristol.
They provide refrigeration, mechanical and electrical solutions to customers in the food retail, food processing and distribution, and non-food sectors including pharmaceuticals and manufacturing.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for assisting engineering staff in all areas of designing, developing and testing of heat transfer and refrigeration system designs
Liaise with customers to understand and outline product specifications and requirements
Developing the design package for projects
Overseeing design development of new products
Coordinating with suppliers for best-fit products
Develop and control quality standards and procedures to British Standards or best practise
Conduct product and material selections
Organising and attending meetings. Completing minutes where applicable
Working with CAD software and Microsoft Office applications
Working within a quality management system
Be able to work in a small team and be flexible to demands. Coping with more than one project at a time
Discussing tasks and ideas to improve manufacturing process and product developments
Assisting to develop energy models to establish best solutions and prove efficiency
Expanding theoretical knowledge of fluids, heat transfer and thermodynamics
Expanding knowledge of refrigeration system design using all refrigerant types including CO2 and low GWP alternative refrigerants
Expanding knowledge of mechanical system design. Including effects of vibration, acoustics and material properties
Develop knowledge of control systems
Expanding and sharing knowledge of product design
Requirements:
Mechanical engineering background
Experience using computer aided design software, such as Inventor, Solid Works or ANSYS
Good level of mathematics
Good IT skills and proficient with Microsoft applications, such as; Word, Excel, PowerPoint
Studied or studying Mechanical Engineering at bachelor's degree level or similar
Offer:
Salary dependant on experience
22 days plus bank holiday
