Job Title: Estimator
Job Type: Permanent – Full Time
Salary: £40,000 - £60,000
Location: Salford / Manchester
We are looking for an analytical individual to take on the role of Estimator within our client’s fast paced and growing company. They specialise working in congested, city centre environments on a range of complex engineering projects. This role will have you responsible for preparing quotations and estimates accurately for the civil engineering projects which all vary in complexity and value.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Reviewing and assessing enquiries, ensuring that all tender documents are received and are correct.
- You will have to attend pre-tender site meetings.
- Prepare subcontract and supplier enquiries and provide recommendations based on tender returns.
- Preparation of competitive tender prices for opportunities, this includes all takes-offs and pricing.
- Identifying value engineering opportunities and prices to accompany the company’s tender submissions.
- Compile offer letters, tender schedules, programmes, and other items that are required within enquiry for submission to client.
- Coordinate internal tender price review meetings.
- Attend post tender client meetings.
- Data analysis, forecasting, and budgeting.
- Input into weekly/monthly end commercial & financial reports.
- Assist in the implementation of operational health & safety.
You should be competent in the following to fulfil your role:
- Drainage
- Utility surveys
- Hard landscaping
- Client liaison
- Estimating (Preferably with a civil engineering background)
- Site meetings
- Tenders
- Risk management
- Customer relationships (New and existing clients)
- Assisting in commercial disputes
Successful Candidates Will:
- Be familiar with first principle estimating.
- Have an in-depth knowledge of civil engineering projects focused on S278 works, deep drainage connections, and hard landscaping.
- Have competent math and IT ability as well as an analytical mindset.
- Communication - Outstanding communication and negotiation abilities.
- Be reliable with your work and have excellent organisation skills.

Experience & Education:
- Surveying/Estimating: 3 years (required).
- Bachelor's (preferred).
