A modern and friendly primary school in Greenwich are looking for a class teaching assistant to join their school on a permanent basis from September.

The Role

In this role you will be providing 1 to 1 support for children with autism most likely in KS2 although this is still to be confirmed. The children you will be supporting will have diagnosed autism but will vary in needs. They will require support with a range of activities both in the classroom and in playtimes/lunchtimes. You will work closely with the class teacher to prepare individual learning tasks and ensure the pupil understands the work set, knows their learning objectives and stays on task in order to make progress.

You will also work under the direction of the Inclusion Leader to:

• implement group or 1:1 interventions
• understand Individual Education Plans & Behaviour Support Plans and assist to implement these, under the guidance of the teacher
• provide feedback to pupils and staff in relation to progress and achievement

Your role will also include lunchtime supervision.

It is also located close mainland rail stations with local bus links. As a 2 form entry site, teachers and teaching assistants within the year group work closely together in planning and assessment for their respective year groups. The school is popular within the local community and there is a culture of working closely with parents. They have a focus on closing the gap for disadvantaged pupils and provide a broad range of extra-curriculum opportunities.
