Applications Architect – Life & Pensions

Experienced Applications Architect is required by a Life & Pensions organisation that are growing through acquisition. We are looking for an experienced and engaging Applications Architect, with experience of software development in various languages, to work with the Business Analysis estate to determine and agree functional and non-functional requirements for software applications.

Role Deliverables include:

• Development of high-level product specifications with attention to system integration and feasibility
• Definition of all aspects of development from appropriate technology and workflow to coding standards
• Work with development team to ensure buy-in and adherence to concepts and guidelines
• Oversee progress of development team to ensure consistency with initial design
• Technical guidance and coaching to developers and engineers
• Ensure quality, security, modifiability, extensibility etc. of all software
• Approve final product design before launch
• Develop relationships with architects in external solution providers
• Ensure roadmap aligns with the third-party product roadmaps

Experience & Knowledge:

• Experience of developing software in various languages such as C#, Java etc.
• UML, BPMN and other modelling methods
• Software and application design and architecture
• HTML/CSS, JavaScript and Microsoft development technologies
• System integration architecture including APIs
• Designing cloud-based solutions
