The starting salary for a junior software engineer can be as low as £20,000 but most job opportunities available offer at least £25,000 per annum. The median salary is £35,000 and senior engineers can earn about £60,000 per annum, particularly those with experience in specific programming languages.

Web Developer

A Web Developer is a professional that is responsible for implementing the design, layout, and code for a website. They are involved with the technical and graphical features of the website, including functionality and user experience. Typically, they also are involved with the maintenance and updates of existing websites.
Salaries range from £18,000 to £40,000 or even more with the amount of experience you have.

A Game Developer creates, develops and codes games for technical devices. This creative job role includes taking a game designer’s concept and ideas and turning them into reality with a fully functional game that can work on multiple platforms, like PCs, consoles, web browsers and mobile phones.

Entry level game developers typically earn between £18,000 & £26,000 per annum with senior game developers earning up to £75,000 per annum. However, freelance contractors can earn substantially more.

The typical starter wage for an IT Manager is £23,000. However, you can earn more and more depending on the years of experience you have.

Data Analysts are responsible for gathering and analysing information for further presentation using analytics tools. Their job role contains identifying & forecasting trends. They can work in most industry sectors.

This job role offers a great average salary starting around £29,000 per annum. The starter wage that juniors often start out on is around £23,000 and this can increase up to £37,000.

Technical Support Engineer

A Technical Support Engineer is someone that monitors and maintains computer systems and networks within an organisation in a technical support role. They are the first point of contact with any issues that may occur and they are there to rectify the problem such as forgotten passwords, viruses or email issues.

As technical support, you may also be known as a helpdesk operator, technician or maintenance engineer.

The average starting salary for technical support ranges from £15,000 to £21,000. There is also potential to earn up to £47,000 with experience behind you.
