Disaster Recovery Coordinator
As a member of the IT Technology Operations team, the DR Coordinator will be expected to own the IT Disaster Recovery Program and drive its development through continuous improvement and big-picture thinking. This highly collaborative role oversees and coordinates all elements of disaster recovery planning and testing with various members of Technology and business stakeholders. Some off-hours work will be required of the DR Coordinator.

What You Need to Have:
- Excellent communication and team interaction skills
- Strong writing, presentation, listening and project management skills
- Organised and detail-oriented, naturally curious and eager to learn, proactive and strives for continual improvement
- Understanding of current disaster recovery and technology trends, products, and service delivery options
- High-level understanding of application architecture, networking concepts, AWS, O365, Oracle OCI, MongoDB
- AWS admin/operations exposure in multi a-z, multi-region environments
- Previous exposure/experience of DR testing involving multi-AZ and multi-region environments
- High level of proficiency in the use of Jira, Confluence, and MS Teams
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Management, or related field required; or a suitable combination of formal education and experience
We’ll Count on You To:
- Develop and execute disaster recovery and failover testing plans, with defined testing scope, timelines, objectives, and metrics that align with our disaster recovery objective
- Schedule and lead DR testing and training exercises
- Coordinate cross-functional planning and testing activities associated with testing processes
- Ensure disaster recovery testing is staffed, executed, and documented
- Establish and maintain the overall plans for executing all DR procedures and understand their interdependencies
- Establish and maintain detailed DR communications and command and control plans
Documentation/Reporting/Communication
- Manage all IT DR documentation, including policy and procedure updates, with a focus on maintaining the most up to date versions
- Ensures all necessary testing documentation is complete, stored, reviewed for accuracy, and available for review by management, auditors, and regulators
- Identify and track issues that arise during disaster recovery testing and ensure an appropriate remediation plan is created and enacted
- Analyze disaster recovery test results and communicate outcomes to key stakeholders
- Regularly report Disaster Recovery activities to upper management
Improve/Grow the Program
- Continually assess our disaster recovery program, processes, and practices for opportunities for improvement
- Identify opportunities to simplify and automate where possible
- Identify opportunities to mitigate exposure during testing windows
- Partner with enterprise architecture and development teams to architect applications for high availability and resiliency
- Deliver ongoing training and awareness on DR concepts and principals
- Collaborate with technology, engineering, and product teams to ensure that disaster recovery solutions are adequate, in place, maintained, and tested as part of the regular operational life cycle
Regulatory/Compliance
- Help ensure compliance with all applicable internal and external regulatory requirements and compliance commitments
- Solicit, compile, and submit responses and evidence to satisfy controls requirements
- Assist with auditing and examination of disaster recovery processes when necessary
