Project Officer (Hybrid) needed in Oxford, £15.17ph PAYE - Reference: 5245884

The role is hybrid - the requirement is working from County Hall Oxford 1-2 days a week and combined with remote.   

1) Support a series of wide-ranging projects in particular those required to deliver the Directorates business and delivery objectives. Projects are likely to cover a wide-range of issues:
a. early formulation of strategic approach
b. translation of political objectives into project deliverables.
c. approaches that are effective in reality and are attuned to operating in a political environment.
d. delivery and implementation, taking account of financial and organisational imperatives.

2) Together with a project team, work with service leads and sponsor to define the project, identifying the critical success factors, requirements and targets of change.

3) To help define and set-up the project organisation structure, assembling team members with agreement of appropriate line managers.

4) Supporting project managers and stakeholders to identify the business justification, establishing project objectives and benefits, metrics, risk and financial data. Support with defining the project scope, impacts, costs, deliverables and schedule. Perform cost / benefit analysis to prioritise scope / phasing of deliverables.

5) Be a driving force to move the projects through their lifecycle as quickly as possible, creating a sense of urgency. Provide timely updates to sponsor and stakeholders.

6) To support the management and delivery of projects using the project management guidelines; maintain project plans and other project documentation to required standard, ensure key decisions and meeting minutes are documented and communicated.

7) Work in a constructive way with colleagues across the Client and with our partners, supporting and challenging others to deliver and embed change.

8) Establish productive working relationships with elected members, senior managers and external organisations.

9) Proactively keep abreast of the policy direction of government and others. Advising the client best practice ideas and applying these where agreed.

10) Achieving effective cross-team working across the directorates.

11) To contribute to Business Development support tasks that may include activities such as: forward planning/ scheme of delegation/ business continuity/ information governance/ performance information/ engagement and consultation/ communication/ equalities. This list of activities is not intended to be exhaustive and specific duties will be allocated as agreed and directed by the team leader.

 

This is a Full role on a temporary contract basis.
