Learning and Development Officer (Hybrid) needed in City of London, £19.63ph PAYE - Reference: 418519

Minimum of 2 days a week in the office, changing in September – goes up to 3 days. Also, weekend work, expected to be on site when they are delivering sessions. Hybrid working between office and home.

Monday to Friday full 37.5 hours role, with weekend hours expected (toil available).

Working with young people and families, be aware of the Education Curriculum to develop the sessions, facilitated with external people – identify other artists and practitioners and manage and support them, do all the administration and work around delivery of the sessions

Initial 3-month period, may be the potential they get extended subject to review.

 

• Support the Events Manager to develop and create an exciting, ambitious and original creative learning programme for the Destination Plan, with the objective of embedding the offer into the Destination events programme, maximising opportunities for engagement with a wide range of audiences, especially young people and families.

• Deliver a year-round programme of creative learning opportunities which culminate in showcase opportunities in the regular annual events calendar and/or as part of a major event, ensuring the projects are of the highest quality and have maximum impact.

• Focus activity at weekends and during school holidays when the City is less busy and the target audiences specified above may be better engaged.

• Support the Event Manager to deliver specific participation and engagement opportunities linked to specific events or shows, with many of these occurring at weekends and on Bank Holidays.

• Work with the Head of Gallery and Amphitheatre to develop and create a creative learning offer for the Guildhall Art Gallery, connecting the gallery to the wider Destination Programme and delivering against Gallery specific themes (eg exhibitions and the collection); drive event audience footfall into the venue through an attractive and engaging participation package, focused on young people and families.

• Review and revise the Guildhall Art Gallery schools programme to ensure the offer is aligned to the wider Destination Programme and that exhibitions and the Gallery’s collection are reflected in wider education work as well as at the Gallery. Working with the Events Manager, procure workshop leaders for Gallery schools’ activity.

• Embed City and London communities in internationally significant work. Provide memorable experiences and a chance to be part of something extraordinary which helps foster individual wellbeing, confidence and a stronger and more cohesive community.

• Actively contribute to the development and creation of creative learning projects, workshops and programmes for both current and prospective audiences in line with the strategic vision, including developing budgets, project plans and key aims and objectives.

• Work collaboratively with the Learning and Engagement Officer (Heritage) to deliver paid-for learning and engagement sessions across the City’s heritage assets (and realm), driving revenues. Similarly, explore revenue opportunities for delivering a financial return across the remit of this role.

• Recruit to learning projects and programmes, securing maximum participation in learning opportunities across the programme.

 

 

This is a Full time role on a temporary contract basis.
