Job Description:

Contracts/Procurement Lawyer (Hybrid) based in Ashton Under Lyne, Paying £27ph PAYE - Reference: 0008 B392 / 1

1. To undertake legal work on a range of matters of a corporate nature and local government issues including, finance, information governance, local government law, procurement and contract law.

2. To undertake advice and representation at all levels of the Client including drafting of reports, and at Courts, Tribunals and committees where appropriate to the corporate function.

3. To provide a full range of professional legal advice and services to the Client on all aspects of the Client’s activities as required.

4. To liaise with the clients to ensure that a responsive and cost effective service is being provided.

5. To keep up to date with developments in local government and the law which are relevant to the post.

6. To use appropriately the information and communications technology of Legal Services when carrying out work.

7. To present training courses and services to staff in Legal Services and other Services and Members

8. To continually review, develop and improve systems, processes and services in support of the Client’s pursuit of continuous improvement and best value.

9. To maintain and follow appropriate office procedures and to provide relevant statistical and management information as may from time to time be required.

10. To support and cover for other staff, to manage/supervise other staff as may be appropriate, to participate in development appraisal reviews and identification of training needs and generally to make an effective contribution to the management and operation of Tameside Legal Services.

 

 

This is working full time hours on temporary contract.
