Coroners Administrative Officer needed in South East London Paying £16.15 per hr Ref 1417673

Full time on a temporary basis

 Role Purpose: Provide excellent administrative support to ensure the effective operation of the Coroners Court.

Principal Duties:

  • Manage the telephone service and front-facing service of the court, providing professional customer service.

  • Handle case management for death referrals and interrogate IT systems to update and retrieve information.

  • Support the Coroner as a court usher for in-person, remote, and hybrid inquests.

  • Manage the jury as jury bailiff during jury inquests.

  • Operate court audio conferencing equipment.

  • Oversee court diary management.

  • Process information requests and press enquiries.

  • Archive case files and court records.

  • Process financial orders and invoices.

  • Maintain and update the court’s website.

Other Duties:

  • Ensure a consistent and professional high level of customer service at all times.

  • Promote data cleansing best practice with service staff.

  • Analyse the causes of data quality issues through the cleansing process and share these with the project team.
