Job Description:

The ideal person will hold a driving license and have access to a car, as all the hours will be onsite. The rate for this role is £30 - £32 Umbrella PAYE. Ref 012665

 

The role is a temporary ongoing contract, initially raised for 3 months.

The post holder ideally has detailed knowledge and understanding of  Network Management, New Roads and Street Works Act 1991, Traffic Management Act 2004, Highways Act 1980, Permit Scheme Regulations 2008, London Permit Scheme plus a level of highways maintenance, highway enforcement, health and safety, SM and customer care experience to effectively deliver the functions within this role, excellent communication skills and experience are also expected.

 

Carry out regular highways site visits in relation to the New Roads and Street works Act, Traffic Management Act, Road Traffic Regulation Act plus Safety at Street works Code under the “Code of Practice for Inspections”, and ensure they are carried out with an integrated inspection programme for all relevant permits, in order to deliver the duties of the New Roads and Street works Act, Traffic Management Act, and Road Traffic Regulation Act..

Risk assess all defects found and prioritise for repair, ensuring that any CDM issues have been highlighted.

 

Identify, register, issue and maintaining a record of repairs necessary to maintain the Public Highway are key to this position.

 

Enforce the compliance & CoP’s aspects of NRSWA, LoPS and the TMA including the issuing of various Fixed Penalty Notices, FPN related to the London Permit Scheme, LoPS.

Ensure Section 74 Charge compliance, Section 72 reinstatement defect compliance, Section 50 planning & compliance to ensure that all activities tasked maximise conformity under the Acts.

 

Desirable Qualifications

  1. New Roads and Street Works Act 1991 supervisor’s qualification (City & Guilds Units 1 to 16).

2.Expert Knowledge of Traffic Management Act 2004, New Roads & Street Works Act 1991 & LoPS.

  1. Experience in highway inspection and/or maintenance.
