We are looking for a methodical and accurate commissioning support officer (grant delivery team) to support the delivery of the Household Support Fund, which has been allocated to Authorities across England. You will be dealing with enquiries and applications from Gloucestershire households for support with essential household bills, goods and food.

Job Purpose
• Delivering an efficient and customer focused service, by processing and responding to incoming applications by processing applications, data, and communicating information and advice where necessary.
• Undertaking general clerical and administrative tasks to support the service as required.
• Triaging applications via emails and the online system. Ensuring an accurate, confidential, and effective service by maintaining up-to-date filing systems (electronically), and security of information in accordance with the policies and procedures of the County Council and relevant legislation
Main duties:
• Tasks will include having conversations with households regarding the pressures they are facing and understanding their needs, processing applications and making decisions on what will help households with the difficulties they are facing. This will include challenging phone calls, where it may involve de-escalation and signposting households to appropriate support.
• Working as a team to support complex cases and problem solve to provide an outcome.
• ICT skills including excel, emailing in a professional manner. With excel you will be expected to know how to fill in data and create basic formulas.
• Promote the Household Support Fund across the county.
• Deliver the Household Support Fund within the DWP and Gloucestershire County Council guidelines for expenditure, and the Council’s local policy to allocate funds.
• Administer and process applications to the Household Support Fund.
• To maintain accurate records.
