Job Title: Business Systems Manager

Reports to: Director of IT

Position Summary

The Business Systems Manager is a hands-on, strategic member of the IT team responsible for planning, implementing, supporting, and continuously improving key business systems—including ERP, WMS, EDI, and other integrated platforms. This role serves as the bridge between technology and operations, ensuring that systems align with organizational goals and deliver maximum value.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the full lifecycle of business-critical applications: selection, configuration, implementation, integration, upgrades, and user support.
• Lead cross-functional projects involving system rollouts, enhancements, and integrations—including ERP, WMS, EDI, and eCommerce platforms.
• Manage all aspects of EDI, including developing mappings and integrations, onboarding new trading partners, and monitoring daily transaction flows.
• Apply project management best practices, including scoping, coordinating teams, maintaining timelines and milestones, and communicating with stakeholders.
• Evaluate and plan new system implementations or upgrades, including vendor selection, budgeting, project management, testing, training, and deployment.
• Partner with department leaders to identify business needs and recommend system-based solutions.
• Manage relationships with software vendors, consultants, and integration partners.
• Ensure data integrity and consistency across integrated systems, including eCommerce platforms.
• Develop and maintain API connections between cloud and on-premise systems.
• Create and maintain documentation on processes, data flows, and system configurations.
• Monitor system performance and utilization; identify opportunities for improvement or automation.
• Stay current with emerging technologies, particularly those relevant to eCommerce, supply chain, and customer-facing integrations.

Qualifications

• 5 years of experience in IT or systems-related roles, including at least 2 years focused on business applications or enterprise systems.
• Strong knowledge of ERP, WMS, EDI, and eCommerce platforms, with hands-on integration experience.
• Demonstrated ability to lead projects and manage stakeholders across departments.
• Experience collaborating with third-party vendors and technical consultants.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on business processes.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.
• Familiarity with SQL, APIs, and basic data structures is a plus.
• Strong project management skills, including budgeting and timeline management.
