Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Business Central Technical Delivery Manager to lead and manage our development team while continuing to contribute to hands-on development projects. This role combines technical expertise with management responsibilities driving the delivery of high-quality software solutions. You will foster a collaborative, innovative environment, ensuring projects are executed efficiently and align with business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership:
- Manage, mentor, and motivate a team of software developers, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
- Provide guidance on technical issues and professional development.
- Oversee workload allocation, performance reviews and professional development.
- Assist in establishing and monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) for the software development team.
- Analyse metrics to assess team and project performance.
- Provide training opportunities and mentorship to enhance the team's technical skills.
- Ensure the team are maintaining utilisation rates.
- Technical Oversight:
- Provide technical leadership and expertise, guiding the team in architectural decisions and best practices.
- Stay current with industry trends and technologies, ensuring the team's skills are up to date.
- Ensure solutions meet business requirements and adhere to coding standards.
- Collaborate with product managers, DevOps manager, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment of development efforts with business goals.
- Project Management:
- Manage development resources effectively to meet project requirements.
- Identify and address resource constraints and bottlenecks.
- Identify potential risks in projects and implement strategies for risk mitigation.
- Proactively address and resolve issues that may impact project timelines or quality.
- Documentation:
- Ensure thorough and up-to-date documentation of software architecture, processes, and procedures.
- Facilitate knowledge transfer within the team.
- Budget Management:
- Work with finance to develop and manage the development budget.
- Monitor expenses and ensure cost-effectiveness in development efforts.
- Client Interaction:
- Collaborate with clients to understand software requirements and expectations.
- Provide updates on project progress, address client feedback, and ensure client satisfaction.
- Develop solutions for custom requirements.
Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience in leading technical teams and managing development projects
- Expertise in Microsoft Business Central (development, customisation and integrations)
- Strong understanding of AL language and Business Central development best practices
- Experience with API integrations, web services and data migration
- Familiarity with Azure services, DevOps practices and CI/CD processes
- Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritise tasks, manage timelines and ensure on-time delivery
- Experience in resource planning and team performance management
- Excellent stakeholder communication and collaboration skills
