Job Title:
Power BI Architect, Foster City, CA, 5 days a week onsite- Up to 180K

Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Power BI Architect with deep expertise in data modeling, ETL/ELT processes, and Power BI migrations. The ideal candidate will design, implement, and optimize business intelligence architectures, ensuring scalable, secure, and high-performance reporting solutions that meet strategic business objectives.

Responsibilities:

• Architect and design data models, dimensional models, and data warehouses to support reporting and analytics needs.
• Lead migration of legacy BI platforms (e.g., MicroStrategy, SSRS) to Power BI, including report inventory analysis, semantic layer redesign, and KPI parity validation.
• Develop and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines using tools such as Azure Data Factory, SSIS, or Databricks.
• Implement incremental refresh, CDC strategies, and performance tuning for large-scale Power BI models.
• Ensure governance, security, and compliance through RLS, OLS, workspace governance, certified datasets, deployment pipelines, and metadata management.
• Automate deployments using Power BI REST APIs, PowerShell, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance for BI projects, collaborating with stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Oversee integration with enterprise systems, cloud identity management, and capacity planning for Premium environments.

Experience:

• Proven experience as a BI Architect with extensive Power BI expertise.
• Strong knowledge of advanced data modeling (star schema, snowflake, composite models), DAX, and data warehousing concepts.
• Hands-on experience with relational and analytical databases (SQL Server, Synapse, Snowflake).
• Experience handling Slowly Changing Dimensions (SCD), surrogate keys, and conformed dimensions.
• Familiarity with MicroStrategy to Power BI migrations is a plus.
• Strong understanding of ETL/ELT processes, CI/CD pipelines, DevOps automation, and cloud/identity management (Azure AD/Entra ID).

Salary/Package:

• 150,000 – 180,000 per year
