Market Officer needed in Pontypool, £13.90ph PAYE - Reference: OR24827

• The role would include a shift pattern including working every third Saturday.
• The role will include working bank holidays.

• To open and close the Market in accordance with the agreed times and procedures.

• To set alarms in accordance with agreed procedures

• To ensure that no unauthorised persons enter the Indoor Market at any time, but especially when closed and to report on any such entry being attempted.

• To undertake regular town visits and report any identified town centre management issues to the appropriate responsible person within the Council. 

• To help manage the indoor and outdoor markets including the collection and recording of rents and monitoring of licensing conditions. 
• To assist with requirements for casual stallholders in the Indoor market, and to provide support to events that take place in the town 
• To provide support to the Highways Team with the management of the Town Centre Traffic Bollards.  Oversee the issuing of swipe cards to eligible high street businesses.

• To maintain the Market including its toilets in a clean and tidy condition ensuring that floors swept, and aisles are kept unobstructed in accordance with agreed schedules.

• To ensure that external areas to Market entrances are kept clean and tidy and free from obstruction.

• To clean glass doors and low level windows.

• To undertake any necessary unskilled maintenance work including turning off stop taps in the event of a serious water leak, changing low level light bulbs, etc.

• Prompt reporting of faults and maintenance issues to the Property Helpdesk.

This is a Full time role on a temporary contract basis.
