Mid–Senior ABAP Developer
Location: Forest Hill, VIC (On-site 4 days per week)

The Role
As a Mid–Senior ABAP Developer, you will work on our legacy ABAP solution while helping modernise our codebase for ABAP in the Cloud. You’ll be involved in the full software development lifecycle—from requirements and design, to development, testing, deployment, and ongoing support. Collaboration is key: you’ll work closely with our Dev, QA, and Product teams to deliver high-quality features.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain classical ABAP (reports, function modules, enhancements) and modern ABAP on HANA.
• Build and maintain CDS views and OData services for integrations and UI consumption.
• Contribute to the evolution of our codebase towards cloud-based ABAP solutions.
• Apply software engineering best practices: OO design, modularisation, clean code, unit testing.
• Investigate and resolve production issues, ensuring robust, performant solutions.
• Collaborate in code reviews, design sessions, and technical discussions.
• (Senior-level) Provide technical guidance, influence architecture, and mentor team members.

Required Skills & Experience

• 4–8 years of ABAP development experience (mid to senior level).
• Strong classical ABAP skills: reports, function modules, enhancements, user exits/BADIs.
• ABAP on HANA: CDS views, OData services, performance optimisation.
• Solid understanding of OO ABAP, database design, APIs, and integration concepts.
• Experience in both project delivery and ongoing SAP support/BAU.
• Eclipse ADT, Code Inspector (SCI/ATC), and ABAP Unit experience highly valued.
• Strong communication skills and collaborative mindset.

Nice to Have

• RAP (RESTful ABAP Programming Model), SAP Fiori, SAP BTP exposure.
• SAP Basis knowledge or functional experience (FI/CO, SD, MM).
• Experience with SAP Solution Manager, ChaRM, or DevOps tools.
