Solutions Architect – Applications & Integration

Pearson Carter are currently working with a large organisation undergoing significant digital transformation who are looking to hire a Solutions Architect (Applications & Integration). This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in shaping application and integration architecture across a complex enterprise environment, helping to deliver scalable, secure, and user-focused digital services.

Responsibilities:

• Designed and governed scalable, secure application and integration architectures across bespoke, SaaS, and third-party platforms.
• Defined integration strategies using APIs, event-driven architectures, messaging, and data synchronisation patterns.
• Led application modernisation initiatives, including cloud adoption and legacy system retirement.
• Collaborated with Enterprise, Security, Data, and Business Architects to ensure alignment with technology strategy and governance standards.
• Supported Agile and DevOps delivery through architectural assurance, automation, and continuous improvement practices.
• Provided technical leadership, stakeholder engagement, supplier management, and mentoring across delivery and architecture teams.

Experience:

• Extensive experience designing and delivering application and integration solutions within complex enterprise environments.
• Strong expertise in modern architectures, including cloud-native, microservices, and modular monolith designs.
• Proven track record delivering integrations using APIs, messaging technologies, event-driven architectures, and enterprise integration platforms.
• Experienced in integrating SaaS solutions with enterprise applications, with a strong focus on security, identity, and access management.
• Skilled in Agile and DevOps delivery practices, including CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and continuous improvement.
• Effective technical leader with experience in architecture governance, stakeholder engagement, documentation, mentoring, and communicating complex concepts to diverse audiences.

Desirable:

• Experience delivering enterprise integrations using MuleSoft, API Management platforms, iPaaS solutions, messaging technologies, and other integration services.
• Familiarity with architecture frameworks such as TOGAF and applying architectural governance within complex organisations.
• Experience working in regulated and public sector environments, with knowledge of accessibility standards and user-centred design principles.

Location:
This client operates on a remote working model with occasional visits to the office.
