Senior Voice AI Engineer
Pearson Carter are currently working with a market-leading technology organisation within the iGaming sector. Due to continued growth and investment in AI-driven communication technologies, they are looking to appoint a Senior Voice AI Engineer to help shape the future of their cloud-based engagement platform.

Responsibilities:
- Design and build real-time Voice AI pipelines for production environments.
- Develop and optimise low-latency streaming systems using technologies such as LiveKit and WebRTC-based communication frameworks.
- Implement and fine-tune Voice Activity Detection (VAD) and conversational turn-taking logic.
- Engineer robust prompting strategies for multi-turn, context-aware conversational AI workflows.
- Integrate Large Language Models (LLMs) with voice interfaces to support agent-assist and autonomous interactions.
- Optimise systems for latency, interruption handling, reliability, and conversational naturalness.
- Evaluate and improve speech recognition accuracy and voice synthesis quality.
- Collaborate with product and operational teams to embed Voice AI solutions into customer engagement workflows.
- Ensure scalability, observability, and fault tolerance across real-time systems.
- Contribute to architectural discussions and help drive engineering best practices across the team.
Experience:
- 5 years of commercial software engineering experience, with strong exposure to AI or real-time systems.
- Hands-on experience with Speech-to-Text (STT), Text-to-Speech (TTS), and Voice Activity Detection (VAD) technologies.
- Experience with LiveKit or similar real-time communication frameworks and media streaming technologies.
- Strong understanding of Large Language Models (LLMs) and prompt engineering for conversational systems.
- Proficiency in Python and modern software development practices.
- Strong understanding of streaming architectures and latency optimisation techniques.
- Experience building, deploying, and maintaining production-grade applications.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Desirable:
- Experience working with conversational AI platforms and voice-enabled applications.
- Exposure to cloud-native architectures and modern DevOps practices.
- Experience with monitoring, observability, and performance optimisation tools.
- Knowledge of machine learning workflows and AI model evaluation techniques.
- Previous experience working within SaaS, communications technology, CRM platforms, or iGaming environments.
Salary:
Salary is dependent on experience but is looking to go up to €80,000.
Location:
This role offers a hybrid working model from their office in Malta, with a combination of office and remote working.
