HR Advisor
Pearson Carter are working with an established manufacturing organisation who are looking for an experienced HR Advisor to join their HR team. This is an excellent opportunity for an HR professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, providing expert HR support across the full employee lifecycle while partnering with managers to deliver effective people solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Provide professional HR advice and guidance to managers on employee relations matters, including disciplinary, grievance, capability, absence and performance management.
- Support managers in the consistent application of company policies, procedures and employment legislation.
- Coordinate recruitment activities including advertising vacancies, shortlisting candidates, arranging interviews and supporting the selection process.
- Manage onboarding activities, including inductions, probation reviews and new starter administration.
- Maintain employee records and HR systems, ensuring all information is accurate and compliant with GDPR requirements.
- Process employee lifecycle administration including starters, leavers, contractual changes, pensions and right to work documentation.
- Liaise with payroll to ensure all employee changes are communicated accurately and within required deadlines.
- Support absence management processes, including occupational health referrals, return-to-work meetings and wellbeing initiatives.
- Prepare HR documentation, reports and management information using HR systems and Microsoft Excel.
- Attend formal employee relations meetings, providing HR support and taking accurate minutes where required.
- Promote employee engagement, equality, diversity and inclusion across the business.
- Support internal communications, employee wellbeing initiatives and company engagement activities.
- Assist with internal audits, compliance activities and continuous improvement projects within HR.
- Build strong working relationships with managers and employees to deliver a proactive and customer-focused HR service.
Experience:
- Previous experience working as an HR Advisor or within a similar generalist HR position.
- Strong employee relations experience, managing cases through to conclusion.
- Good knowledge of UK employment legislation and HR best practice.
- Experience supporting recruitment, onboarding and HR administration.
- Experience working with HR systems and producing HR reports.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills with the ability to analyse HR data.
- Experience within a fast-paced manufacturing environment would be desirable.
- Experience working alongside Trade Unions would be advantageous.
- CIPD Level 5 qualified or currently studying towards a CIPD qualification is desirable.
Salary
They offer a competitive salary of £39-50k, dependent on experience.
Location
The client is based on-site in Sheffield or Manchester, with the successful candidate expected to work Monday to Friday as part of the HR team.
